About Dr. Glowiak
Dr. Matt Glowiak is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Certified Advanced Alcohol and Other Drug Counselor (CAADC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), professor, presenter, advocate, and writer. In each of these capacities, Dr. Glowiak has served those struggling with addiction while continuing to spread awareness on the topic to students, clinicians, instructors, and the general public.
Beyond counseling and teaching, Dr. Glowiak has a long history of advocacy, servant leadership, publications, and presentations. Dr. Glowiak has provided free sessions to clients in need as well as created a scholarship for a local counseling association. He is published in seven textbooks and dozens of articles, including those peer-reviewed and featured media quotes. Dr. Glowiak presents both in-person and online. Since 2019, he hosted a local Bolingbrook, Illinois television show, “Mental Health Matters with Dr. Matt,” which serves to educate the community on mental health and de-stigmatize the topic.
Dr. Glowiak loves everything about counseling and professes that this work is his calling in life. This is exuded in every interaction with every client, student, colleague, and otherwise. With an interest in motivational speaking and writing, he recently published his first book, “A Year of Finding Your Callings: Daily Practices to Uncover Your Passion and Purpose.” This inclusive book is a compilation of daily entries that help readers follow their passion and purpose while becoming more culturally sensitive.
