Keith Jajko

Keith Jajko is an author and journalist, formerly a political aide, marketing and communications consultant, and volunteer. He began his career in Southern California, where he worked as a newspaper reporter, political aide, public relations consultant, business owner-operator, digital marketer, and writer.

He now lives in Maui, Hawaii, where he works as a freelance writer. His first book, "Rehab All-Star: Experiences & Escapades in Substance Abuse Treatment Centers," a memoir of a 14-year recovery odyssey, was published in 2026.

Previously, Jajko was a staff writer with the Los Angeles Daily News and editor of all publications for the National Notary Association. He is currently the founder and editor of the satire news site Maui Insight.

He has personal experience with substance abuse treatment programs, behavioral health, addiction, alcoholism, 12-step recovery programs, and homelessness. Jajko spent a year working for Christian Outreach in Action, a nonprofit organization in Long Beach, California, that provides services directly to the area’s homeless population.

Jajko received two awards from the Ventura County Press Club in 1994, when he covered major national stories, including the Northridge Earthquake and riots following the first Rodney King beating trial.

He has served on the governing boards of numerous nonprofit organizations, including Rotary Club, the Boys & Girls Club, Free Clinic of Simi Valley, Friends of the Simi Valley Library, Moorpark College Foundation, California State University, Northridge Journalism Alumni Association, and Simi Valley Girls Softball.
